Linux Mint 17 boot problem

Made ISO image DVD from 64 bit download. Will not boot to same computer. Just pauses at Cd and skips to HDD Windows XP boot. Athlon 64 dual core 3800+ with 2Gb RAM, Nvidia 6100 enbetted GPU, Acer Aspire E360, motherboard 041T55231452.

Maybe Nvidia problem mentioned in Mint release notes, but don't know how to do the fix.

Is your BIOS set to boot from DVD?

Did you verify the md5sum of the ISO before burning it?

Make a cd and see if it boots. Maybe a Debian cd to test.

I doubt the video card would stop it from trying to boot. You may not see the boot choice but it ought to be booting.

In some older systems that have both a cd and a dvd, it's possible that you have to remove the power from cd in order to get dvd to boot.

A bad dvd reader might cause this. Burn and read are different.

Poor quality dvd.

Burn speed too fast.
