Linux Mint 17.2 Cinnamon crash with second Monitor
Hello,
I have installed Linux Mint 17.2 on a friends old MacBook (1.1).
So far everything works quite nice except when an external Monitor get´s connected (LCD, TV or CRT doesn´t matter) Cinnamon will crash and run then in some "fallback Mode" Thanks for any help / hints on that.
BTW it seems that only Cinnamon is crashing, i have tested blackbox which runs fine when another monitor is connected.
This is the output of /var/log/syslog right after that happens:

Respawning is the interesting word for me. Why should a WM respawn? That's automatically restarting immediately. It points to a very early error or exit. Signal 15 is a kill signal, probably issued by the kernel to keep order. Segfault? Libs awol/corrupt? Use this to check for libs
I think you misunderstood my meaning.
Cinnamon is crashing out early, respawning, aand crashing repeatedly. The problem to fix ;'Why does it crash at once?' . Why then does it respawn and wipe the error trail?.
The only clue you have is a signal 15 to Cinnamon. If the kernel issued it, the program tried to cross some line, and is corrupt. Does it read the same with sha1sum as a working version in some other box? Is /usr/bin/cinnamon 32 or 64 bit?
I have checked with another Mint installation, so far for both installations the checksumms are the same, all cinnamon related binaries are 32bit.
Then i tried another Kernel version, but it´s the same error with a different kernel.
Finally i installed XFCE and tried that one, and with XFCE in use the second monitor works without XFCE crashing. And my friend is happy with XFCE too and i have removed Cinnemon from the installation.
