Is it possible to run development version of nemo in LMDE4?

I'd like to try the development version of nemo [version 5.0] in a LMDE4 VM.

Is this possible and if so, how should I go about doing this?

What do the Nemo developers say?

i.e. There should be a readme and/or other docs describing both what the requirements are and how to build it.

If no such documentation exists, raise an issue to ask for it.

Actually, I think they are just a week or two away from a beta release of a Mint point release.
I either didn't ask on the correct channel or they thought I was aware of this [which I wasn't].

LMDE is normally kept in sync, to a very limited extent, with Mint point updates.

Anyway I didn't get a useful answer - but I can run a Mint VM when available just as easily as a LMDE4 one.

So whilst I could try some nasty mixture of Mint, nemo source and Debian testing, there doesn't seem much point.
