Getting icons off the side menu in Cinnamon.

Ok, in the cinnamon "Start" menu there is a collum on the left with some icons in it. How do I get icons off of this? I can drag icons onto this menu but can't get them off (right click does nothing)

I am 99% sure I am running Maya.

drag them from there to the main part of the menu.
