Failed to fetch file during aplication instalation from synaptic package manager

I am erika, o.akire is my name in reverse
I use mint and jaunty in all of my PC/laptops.
Actually I still dont know how to operate it:D looks too over confidence may be
Yea, I think Linux is a good choice
though I got a lot of problems, and a lot of people complains me
All I need to do is to learn about it. Finally really nice to know Linux forum who really support newbie like me.

This is one of my problem:
I cant install aplications using synaptic package manager. Its always written:
failed to fetch file
file not found.

also it cant read the repo cd

Hi Erika,

Since this is actually the "Member Intro" thread, I'll say "Welcome to LQ :) and nice to have you here."

I'll also suggest that you might do better to post your question in a better location, such as the Ubuntu area or the Mint area or the Newbie section as your question will get better exposure over there. Normally we would move the thread, but since your introduction is also in here, I'd rather leave this thread alone where it is.

And, since I don't use Mint or Ubuntu, I'll wait for a member who does use them, to give you advice.
