Execute permission denied on NFS share

I have a file server running Open Media Vault. For now I am only using it as an NFS server.

I am getting Permission Denied when trying to execute a binary file on the server.

/etc/fstab has
Code:
192.168.1.103:/export/devel /mnt/Share/devel nfs defaults,nofail,exec 0 0
but /etc/mtab shows
Code:
192.168.1.103:/export/devel /mnt/Share/devel nfs rw,nosuid,nodev,noexec,relatime,vers=3,rsize=131072,wsize=131072,namlen=255,hard,proto=tcp,timeo=600,retrans=2,sec=sys,mountaddr=192.168.1.103,mountvers=3,mountport=32941,mountproto=udp,local_lock=none,addr=192.168.1.103 0 0
Where does the noexec come from? A policy somewhere?
I'm using LinuxMint 18.3. My ODROID XU4 running its default Linux distro does not have the problem.

you may try to remount, probably that will give some additional info.

I tried
Code:
/ # umount /mnt/NetShare/devel
/ # mount /mnt/NetShare/devel
and got the same thing (no surprise).
Then I tried
Code:
/ # cat /etc/mtab | grep devel -
192.168.1.103:/export/devel /mnt/NetShare/devel nfs rw,nosuid,nodev,noexec,relatime,vers=3,rsize=131072,wsize=131072,namlen=255,hard,proto=tcp,timeo=600,retrans=2,sec=sys,mountaddr=192.168.1.103,mountvers=3,mountport=32941,mountproto=udp,local_lock=none,addr=192.168.1.103 0 0
/ # umount /mnt/NetShare/devel
/ # mount -o exec -t nfs 192.168.1.103:/export/devel /mnt/NetShare/devel/
/ # cat /etc/mtab | grep devel -
192.168.1.103:/export/devel /mnt/NetShare/devel nfs rw,relatime,vers=3,rsize=131072,wsize=131072,namlen=255,hard,proto=tcp,timeo=600,retrans=2,sec=sys,mountaddr=192.168.1.103,mountvers=3,mountport=32941,mountproto=udp,local_lock=none,addr=192.168.1.103 0 0
/ #
This got rid of the noexec.

If I cannot find what is overriding exec in fstab I will put a mount command in /etc/bash.bashrc with a test so it only gets done once.

I do not really understand, but probably (in fstab):
Code:
192.168.1.103:/export/devel /mnt/Share/devel nfs defaults,nofail,exec 0 0
moving exec to the front may help:
192.168.1.103:/export/devel /mnt/Share/devel nfs exec,defaults,nofail 0 0

It made no difference. I tried exec in front, and defaults at the end or missing. /etc/mtab showed the same for all cases.
