I am not sure if this is question about OS compatibility with your HP or you are asking which OS you should try?

Touchscreen wont work, Mint 19.1 works fine.

I also have touchscreen (not HP), and latest CentOS, Fedora, openSuSE and Ubuntu all works with touchscreen.

Touch screen support is in the Linux kernel.
