compiz 'locks' windows

After entering "compiz --replace" I could no longer move any windows. Did control-C and could move the windows but the decorations disappeard. Had to log out and log back in to get the windows corrected.

Running Mint 14 Mate.

I'm open to suggestions.

Found the solution. The "Move" and "Resize" capabilities actually have to be enabled in the Compiz Settings Manager.

Why on Earth it is not enabled by default is beyond my ability to understand. Never had to do that before.
