Check sha256sum

Linux Mint 18 64bit.
How do I check sha256sum of burned DVD?

How do I find the path to my dvdrw? I am trying to check sha256sum of DVD I burned. I tried cd /dev/sr0, dvd, dvdrw, cd /media/tom. I did get to /media/tom:

/media/tom $ sha256sum CentOS-7-x86_64-DVD-1503-01.iso
sha256sum: CentOS-7-x86_64-DVD-1503-01.iso: No such file or directory

/media/tom $ ls
CentOS 7 x86_64

Try:
sha256sum /dev/sr0

As you have discovered the DVD was automatically mounted at /media/tom/ but you are trying to find the sum of the ISO file itself which is probably located in your Downloads directory.

So, how do I verify the DVD I burned?

Sorry, forget the above!

It just dawned on me after the moment I clicked on send.

$ sha256sum /dev/sr0

That's working.

The result you got from sha256sum /dev/sr0 should match the result from sha256sum CentOS-7-x86_64-DVD-1503-01.iso which should match the value (sha256sum.txt.asc) from the site where you downloaded the ISO.

What command do I use to do that?

Sorry forget the above. I just realized what you were telling just after I clicked on the send button.
$ sha256sum /dev/sr0
