Talking Can't find photos on my iphone with Home?

On Mint reading my iphone, I have to use my 1 Terrabyte backup reader to file my photos and backup of contacts.

When I use Home/files it shows no files when I connect the phone to the USB of my machine.

How can I see the files?

What is this "Home" that you mention in your subject line?

I'm not surprised you are having difficulties. Apple is notoriously hostile to Linux. For example, there is no iTunes for Linux. A web search for connect iphone Linux will turn up a number of articles. Perhaps one of them will help.

Me, I have no personal experience with iPhones (and, frankly, I don't want any, but that's just me).

I guess you have not used Linux Mint. Home on the desktop is like file explorer in Windoze.

iphones guess I'll try an android phone and see what happens. If I do not sort his out I'll try my Mac.

Next week I am going to try to dual boot with Linux Mint 19. Guess I will get back at Apple.

Will try the pointer thanks.

This looks promising:

Not sure if you have resolved this issue yet but, as stated above, major and even minor updates of IOS on an iphone/ipad will make changes to the system that will prevent access to it from another OS. Apple's decision. There are different ways of accessing data with different Linux systerms and the easiest thing to access on an iphone is photos. Methods vary. If accessing your iphone is important to you, you may try the multi-step process explained in excruciating detail at the link below which worked for me on Ubuntu 16.04. Haven't tried it on a newer release but I'm not aware of any Linux system that allows access to an iphone with default software.

What you refer to as "HOME" on your Mint is commonly called a 'File Manager' by most users.

Thanks.

I had to run it several times bu could not use usbmuxd says no directory.

However, now have my phone working in File Manager alias Home alias File explorer alias Nautilus.

But it was a lot of work. I hate Apple Macs as well.
