Bring back mate to/for LMDE

Hi all,

I upgraded lmde to 3, could not get used to cinnamon, so used a back up of LMDE2 to wipe out LMDE3. Works fine now.

I for one do not like cinnamon, I know, and did install mate from the repos, but it just was not the same as when the developers configure mate, mate is much nicer when they do it.

So developers please bring back mate.

Not having a go at you though.

I am not a developer but I have seen many people lament the dropping of support for MATE in LMDE3.

However, I think the chances of the developers seeing your thread on here are slim. I suggest that you either leave a note on the Mint blog (https://blog.linuxmint.com/), or contact Mint directly at the email address (or use another method of contact) found at https://linuxmint.com/contactus.php.

Thanks hydrurga - but as always because I almost exclusively use tor I am blocked from posting or even registering at Mint. Thanks for the pointers though
