do that.
openbox hasn't changed much, but tint2 is under heavy development, great new features that have very little impact on performance. and since tint2 is very light to start with, that means "practically none".
the green line in the screenshot is a clever use of tint2's gradient feature.
again, all credit goes to sixsixfive who published the original under a Attribution-ShareAlike license (but unfortunately it's behind a login).

Hi, I want to ask here since searching the internet and the *-look websites gives little results as this is a subjective matter, does anyone have more WM themes that are similar to the one I'm using right now? I don't like flat themes and want themes that have gradients, colours and preferably with different colors. When I look up retro and classic themes it gives few results that don't do it for me.

Appreciated.

I think I must be the complete opposite of many of you here at LQ.

I've always liked a 'busy' desktop, with plenty to look at. I run a 'kennels' of around a dozen 'Puppies', and graphic design has always been a big hobby of mine. So much so, that I design my desktops completely from scratch......lock, stock & barrel.

This is my 'take' on the current 'flagship' Puppy, Xenialpup64 7.5. This is a standard 'look' for most of my Pups ATM; GkrellM and Pup's own 'pWidgets' helping to comprise the 'info panel' on the right. Background sourced from either a Google search or a Duckduckgo one.....I forget which. 'Liquid metal' was what I plugged into the search box.

The eclectic mix of icons has been culled from 100's of web searches over the years; when I can't find something suitable, I make my own! (The row of drive icons at the bottom is normal for Puppy, although they are my own 'icons'.)

Part of the reason for a possibly 'cramped' look and feel may be due to the relatively small screen size; it's only a 1024 x 768 display, y'see.....

----------------------------------------

@ Quadss9:- If you can't find something you really like, do what I do; 'roll your own'. Mind you, it helps to have an artistic 'bent' for that one, I guess..!

Mike.

I really like being surprised by the "Picture of the Day" feature for wallpapers in KDE Plasma (National Geographic, in my case). There's always something cool waiting for me on the desktop!

PS: Who says KDE is a RAM-hog?

Couldn't deal with the bloat... all desktop environments purged... back to the basics with fvwm. Compiling imagemagick, listening to somafm via mpv.

Cooked up a nice little devuan w/openbox system today. I have to say, I really like it. No systemd, no pulseaudio, no gnome-keyring, etc. Very fast and stable, and of course everything I need is just a "sudo apt install..." away.

Here I have lxterminal, screenfetch, pcmanfm, mpv for music in the terminal (with defcon-radio/SomaFM), and the latest vivaldi for browsing the intertubes.
