Fedora 14 Screenshots

Traditionally Fedora isn't thought of as a 'fancy desktop' distro. It has always been a trailblazing distro which had been the first to use a lot of desktop technologies used in other distros. Since I use Fedora as my main desktop distro, I just wanted share my current desktop screenshot.
Attachment 7176 I don't really have a preference for dark vs. light. Just using a dark theme at the moment. Theme: Aurora-Midnight Window borders: Shiki-Colors-Metacity Icons: Faenza (Dark) Panels: Set to be transparent Here's it in some action. Attachment 7177 Apps in use: gvim, system-monitor, Guake terminal (transparent background) |
I had a blueberry cheesecake for dessert last night. Wasn't nice, but don't tell my mother who made it...

My Desktop
Hey, Fedora is as good looking as any other distro - plus, it's Linux man! It can be anything you want it to be, yeah!

@Acid: Heh, look at my system stats on the left, man! If I can make a system look like "Seven" on 1/32 the amount of its minimum required RAM, I deserve nothing less of applause. My friend's got 4G RAM, a dual core processor, and his seven feels like my grandpa trying to take a leak (slow and difficult to point in the right direction). Again, it can look like anything you want it to be - I've downloaded themes from gnome-look.org that can make my system look like XP, Jaguar, BeOS, Amiga ...
@ Mr. Sharma: The composite extension can make X use a lot of RAM .. something as subtle as a pixmap theme and SVG icons can affect system performance - why not use vi directly, by the way? FBCon gives a full 1024x768 resolution - I sometimes use sisfb - virtual consoles running at 1024x768 with 32bits depth at 85 hertz, I got chills just now #:-) |
