zip 250 internal not working RH9

I bought a Zip 250 for the drive bay in my Dell Latitude C600 running Redhat 9.
When I boot up and on the desktop... I insert a zip disk and mount the zip disk. Only it will finally start to put errors on the screen about device sent back too much data. However, if I shutdown and pull out the zip drive, insert my cd rom drive, then plug up my external USB Zip 250 it works beautifully. I sent one back thinking it was defective... and got this one sent to me. I am not sure what is wrong. Ideas???

I think I found the problem... it is with RH9. I took the same zip drive and put it into another laptop with Win2000 (shutter) and it worked. I also have a problem with Openoffice 1.1 and printing in RH9. So I guess I am a switcher... to Mandrake 9.2 powerpack.
