Yellow Dog Linux and iBook 600?

Just wondering if anyone has used this on their iBooks before?

I just downloaded 3.0 to try it out, and I haven't installed it yet. I am a little nervous about nuking my OS 10.3.5 install, though I will be putting in some software that runs MacOS through linux on PPC systems.

What I would like is to see my laptop run better. OS 10 always seems to run sluggish, even though I have 364MB of RAM. The mulimedia has always been really slow.

Has anyone run this, and liked it? I'll be installing it later tonight after work. So if I hear nothing, I will follow up then. Unless of course, someone says maybe I shouldn't.

Thanks!

I thought I would follow up:

I tried yellowdog, and while it is a great OS. I did have some problems. Most noteably my Airport card would not get an IP no matter what I did. All I got was some errors saying a series of SET commands failed. It also did not have as many packages and support that mandrake has. I am also more familiar with mandrake. So I downloaded 9.1 for PPC and have been very happy so far. My Airport card worked right out of the box, and all the software I need was right there.

Yellowdog is a good alternative to MacOSX... but it is less widely used than Mandrake, so the support forums are not there.
