xorg not starting on asus A6va
Hi to all
Probably this thread ins't new but I haven't other solution. I've recently bought an asus A6va laptop and I've installed on it Slackware 10.1. Everything goes fine during installation but after running xorgsetup or xorgconfig (without problems) I tried running startx and X won't start and says me that no screen was found. My video card is an ATI mobility Radeon x700 and during boot I've read some errors about it (I don't understand exactly what kind of). How I could solve this problem??? Thanks in advance |
the "screen not found" is the "default" error message. It tell you that when it can load X.
At my opinion, you mis-configured your xorg, have you tried to run xorgconfig again, choosing different value, especially about refresh rate and video card driver? |
yes I've tried
However I've changed distribution and now I use Knoppix 3.9 Video card is automatically detected (but not correctly) but without open GL. I'll try to install Ati drivers later. I'd like to use Slack but I'm not too good in hacking!!! |
