Xorg and Touchpad

Hi there!!

My problem is getting the touchpad to work properly in Slack 10.1

I've found some guides for doing it in XFree86, and the driver searches for XFree includes.
I run Xorg.

Any Suggestion?

thanx in advance

To be of any help - any of us are going to need some more technical specs. What is the touchpad doing wrong? what kind of laptop/ what kind of touchpad? is it a ps/2 or serial connecton? etc.

All the touchpads work as a ps/2 by default, the problem is that this protocol don't allow some special features of the touchpad as double tapping, finger detection, palm detection, tap zones etc.

I don't think useful but My Laptop is a Gateway Solo 5300 XL with a generic synaptics touchpad
