X-windows in hp pavilion ze4430us

Hello!

I have a HP pavilion ze4430us laptop and I installed Redhat Linux 9 on it. The problem is that X-windows cannot start. The monitor is blinking when Linux boots. What is the video card choice (I have used ATI Radeon M6) and the monitor choice (I have used generic laptop monitor 800 x 600) that I should make during installation? What is the vertical and horizontal synchronization that I should use?

I would suggest installing Fedora Core 1 on that laptop.. I have the same model and I have everything working to include the 54g wireless card using linuxant.com's driver wrapper..

Even the ACPI works.. I'm stilll working on getting software suspend to work also but it's not a big one since I hear it boots back just as fast as a cold start

When setting up fedora it'll detect the video card as a ATI 9000 I think which works fine.. then do generic lcd 1024x768 @ 60hz and you're set..
