Question Wrong keyboard layout in XFree86 on Compaq Evo n1005v

I've tried different keyboard types and layouts for my laptop keyboard but none of them enable me to use the arrown keys at the bottom right of my keyboard.

Everytime I press the left arrow a tilde (~) appears and the right arrow sends <End> so the cursor jumps to the end of the line. Also <Esc> doesn't work at all which is really awkward in vi when you want to save.
