Exclamation WPC11b ver 4 revisited

Like many many others on this forum, I've struggled along with this poor excuse for a network card. Reading forum post after forum post, only to be as puzzled and frustrated as when I began.

Now for the ?good? news.........
Was screwing around and hosed up my MBR (maybe 12 gazillion changes to grub and or LiLo had sumpin to do with that). I figured now is as good a time as any to reinstall with the onboard LAN enabled on my MoBo. Install went fine, but upon first boot I got about 15 hardware errors spat out. Back to the bios to remove onboard LAN and APCI. Reboot and all was well. I had seen this problem before with the silly IRQ sharing on my MB. Only this time when I rebooted and popped the wifi card in, I GOT LIGHTS. BLINKING ONES. I set the card up according to the OldCrank page <feel free to post URL someone...I forgot it> and BOOM. works . works well actually, even snoops and connects to the neighbors router.
someone- Finegan maybe- got any ideas how why etc.?

BTW kernel 2.4.20-8 from RH9 Bible ISO....havent hit RHN for any updates yet.
