Hello linman321,

In my opinion, I would go by the fujitsu siemens v5535 as it has more ram (1g) and better processor (dual core at 1.8), among other things. keep in mind that any of those computers are a little bit old and you may need to change soon.

I've based my opinion on the following sheets:
Hp nc6220 http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/q.../12130_na.html
fujitsu siemens v5535 http://www.fujitsu.com/downloads/COM...heet_v5535.pdf

Both links are from the manufacturer.

Both laptops are outdated, i would not choose any of them. The HP only supports single core Pentium M CPUs (end of life 2008) and has Intel 915 graphics. Even current netbooks have faster graphics and at least a dual-core CPU. The Fujitsu Siemens has a dual-core CPU (Core2Duo generation), but also SIS graphics, which can be problematic with Linux.

May be we can give you some recommendations when you give us a prize range you can afford.

Thanks for the replay.

I know the laptops issent the newest. I'm asking witch of them you would stick with if you had to use one of them as a main computer the next 2-3 years.

The one which gives better support in yor area and is more modular (in case you have to replace components). You might have to ask around a bit.

OK

If you don't need much performance I would go for the HP, it has a much better supported Intel chipset. If you want to have more performance and don't mind probably fiddling around a bit to get it running I would choose the Fujitsu Siemens.

That depends on which CPU would be in the Centrino machine and which version of Celeron this is.
