wireless wep


ok iam really new to all of this havent really been working with fedora for to long so i dont know much when i installed fedora 7 a while back everything went fine with my wireless the wireless manger picked it up and i was fine now i installed fedora 8 but my wireless wep does not work i have to connect to a unsecred wireless iam working with a gateway laptop not sure if thats any help so does any body know what i can do to fix this my teacher who is linux certifid did not know what to do i hope some one here knows whats going on...thanks...

Maybe a bit late, but nevertheless:

You are connecting to your wireless lan with the gnome networkmanager, right? Just try to connect to your network and look at the debug messages.

As root:
Code:
tail -f /var/log/messages
And then try to connect to your wlan.

The networkmanager logs every step. So you will be able to see why it can't connect to your wep wlan. If not, feel free to post the output here.

thanks alot iam going to do that in a bit only because iam connect by a naibours wireless so when i disconnect i will try it an post it here thanks again

ok this is what i got after i did that and also it asks me to put my wep code again so i put it in and more things comes up this is all jibberish ti me so can you please help me....
