wireless on Inspirion 1525

I have a small issue with installing the wireless driver on inspirion 1525.

My card is
lcpci:

Code:
0b:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4328 802.11a/b/g/n (rev 03)
ndiswrapper 1.53 installs without problem or errors of any kind.

ndiswrapper -l gives:

Code:
bcmwl5 : driver installed
device (14E4:4328) present (alternate driver: ssb)
I've tried with driver for vista (bcmwl6 and with the above driver for windows XP.

Anyway I cannot see the interface when I type

iwconfig:

Code:
lo no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.

pan0 no wireless extensions.
I have also add the native driver to the black list

Code:
echo 'blacklist bcm43xx' | tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist
Maybe I'm missing something maybe ndiswrapper does not support this wireless card, though I've read about ppl using it under ubuntu.

Any hints will be greatly appreciated.

You'll want to blacklist ssb as it's listed by ndiswrapper as the alternate driver.

Is ndiswrapper loaded? Does lsmod show it in the list? If so, does network manager show it? Perhaps it's just not enabled in network manager.

Thanks!

Blacklisting ssb and reboot found my wlan0. I did have ndiswrapper loaded. I also tried to blacklist ssb, but I didn't reboot. After rebooting the WiFi light was on immediately after I loaded the ndiswrapper module.

So so I couldn't find where to enable wireless in the network manager.I jumped from FC5 to 9.

Well have to check some weird behaviour I got while starting and stoping the NetworkManager but now I am able to configur my WiFi and have connection when I am on the go.

I'll test again the blacklisting of ssb driver and single out what exactly happend as I did two things at the same time before it started.

Thanks again. Really appreciate.
