Wireless network Acer 5520
 

Well got the drivers to load finally...

I would have been nice for someone to tell me we had to blacklist the part of this driver...

I think that most people trying to get this wireless to work probably did what I did and skipped steps....

Now I can see the card but it doesn't seem to be seeking networks?

use to use windows and netbuster.....

it would probe for wireless networks this doesn't seem to look for routers what program will start the card to seek other networks tired kismet get some file needs to be active or something... Is there an easy program to use for wireless networks in ubuntu hardy?

I will figure the others out later like kismet and airsnort...

Just want to see my I've loaded the proper drivers and it will start scanning...

I see that you went through all the same distros that I did. Madwifi will not work on the atheros wifi. I'm not sure as to the why of it, but that just seems to be the case. Try using ndiswrapper with the windows xp drivers. Let me know if you need further help. bye.

Just did the ndiswrapper with the windows xp drivers with net5211 still not there yet I get this....

So the I go to Administration network and type in the ESSID as Zeolle but when I do the iwconfig I get ESSID off why?

then i do this no results

What I worried about is this belkin router wants me to clone the mac address for the ethereal port?

how am I going to clone the mac address?



Then I tried to turn the router into a access point no success
