wireless hp in fedora

I just installed FC4 on my system. I dont know where synaptic is. I relied on it heavily.
I also don't have my wireless working. I know how to enable this in ubuntu, ndiswrapper.
So basically, here's my problem...

I am unable to use the apt-get command, do not have synaptic, and can not use the ndiswrapper command.
It seems that a few of the packages that I have relied heavily on, are not around.

I am also curious as to how to add hdc=noprobe to my startup.

You don't say which HP model you have but you'll probably find most everything you need at livna. There are several threads here that discuss how to get the touchpad working. Do some searches on synaptics.
