Here is a procedure to get it going on Ubuntu. Live CD's pose some different problems. You need an environment to compile software. Not sure if it is possible on a live CD.

Don't try to get something like wireless working when running from LiveCD---that's not the purpose of the latter.

Use a LiveCD to evaluate different versions of Linux (or for the occassional maintenanc or recovery task). When you find a version of Linux that you like, then install it to the hard disk. Then, setting up wireless, a printer, etc. will be pretty straightforward.

I'm afraid I'm not following you....

First, ndiswrapper is a way of using Windows drivers on Linux. It is probably not going to be necessary, but it is also not relevant to running from LiveCD.

The whole point of a liveCD is to not disturb your existing system (on the hard drive)---to avoid doing anything to the existing system, you also have to avoid installing anything.

So--my advice is unchanged: Don't bother with trying to make things like wireless work with a LiveCD. If you want to really use Linux, then install it.
