In a simple routed, wired/wireless, home network, probably not possible. Whenever you
disconnect or reconnect the network cable, while a (network level) conversation
is active, you risk dropped packets. Any time this happens, your computer could
cause the server at the other end of the (application level) conversation
becoming confused, and dropping the connection.

Given a properly setup network metric, you should be able to automatically
switch back and forth between the Ethernet and WiFi connections. But that won't
guarantee no dropped packets, if you're in the middle of an application
conversation.

So I am going to guess the answer is no, 100% seamless, no packet's dropped... not possible
