Question Wifi problems after installing Ubuntu 18.04 onToshiba L855D-5220?


Toshiba SATELLITE l855d-s5220 DOES NOT FIND wireless adapter after installing Ubuntu 18.04. It worked fine with Ubuntu 16.04. Any suggestions?

A few ideas.

One is that the driver for this nic was removed in new kernels.
Another is the driver is not being selected correctly. modprobe maybe

Another is everything is fine but you aren't using new tools to connect.

How did you decide it doesn't find adapter?

What is the wireless chipset in this machine? (The lspci command should reveal that information.)

I go to settings,wifi. "No WI-FI adapter fonnd. Lspci command , RTL8188ce.

Wink Operator error!

Airplane mode was on. Finally found a key to turn it off. Network working fine. Thanks for your help.
