Broadcom = ndiswrapper. Knoppix 4.0 DVD has in its config menu an item called ndiswrapper . It will ask you for your windows drivers for the wifi card which should be bcwl5a.inf (or something very close to that. There are many threads/discussions/how-tos on this. Try "broadcom wifi ndiswrapper" in google and you will get several step-by-step instructions.
While you're googling, also try "1280x800 widescreen linux" for documentation on how to add the native widescreen resolution to your display options. I haven't done it to my Pavillion yet, but I've read several threads on how to. I don't know if you're set on Knoppix, but Mepis (also a live CD) offers 1280x800 on boot. Finally, I don't think the 4 hours and 20 minutes between your posts is too long to wait for a response. With users all around the globe, sometimes you just need to wait for a different part of the world to wake up/get home from work/etc. Just my opinion, I could be wrong. |
