Lightbulb Wich distro for my notebook (any idea???)

First off i wanted to say that i m a linux-newby and french (lol...so sorry for my englisch)

What i wanted to know is which Linux-distro would be the best for this Notebook (i mean compatibility (CPU with speedstep tech and the video card ATI radeon 7500 M are very important) and speed).

Or as anyone got this notebook and Linux on it???

Cose it will be my first linux distro and notebook and i want to have a good start (wo don t whant s it??

go to www.linux-laptop.net and find your laptop. You will then get instructions for whatever distros have been loaded on others of their kind.

You might also check out http://tuxmobil.org/ibm.html.
I have a Compaq 2170US with the same graphics chip as the IBM. SuSE 8.2 had no problems installing and detecting hardware.

ok coo cool...

thanks for your so fast answers...ok then i m going to try Suse linux

and of course if there any other users who have made experients which linux on the same notebook or like zvandiver with the same GPU (the ati radeon mob. 7500) i m waiting on any other feedback...

Oh and their is another question...Does the linux kernel support the speestep funktion from the P4 mobile

so a last quest:

Are their some special linux drivers for GPUs like an Catalyst alternative for linux???

have no idea...
