Why RH9.0 always shutdown my monitor?

Hi, all:
I'm using RH9.0 under IBM X21, every time when I entered the Gnome, after a while, the monitor became black, although I was doing sth!
I' ve tried to find some configurations about such default behaviours of system, but failed.
Could you help me?
Thank you very much!

that's the suspend/hibernate stuff going on. had that problem too until i turned off that powersaving stuff in the bios. if you need and/or want the powersaving stuff, that's probably not what you want to hear. i myself don't use it in windows or linux since both don't really work right with that stuff.
