Thumbs up Why Aren't We Hearing About LimeBook?

I don't get why we're always hearing about Linux on Dells, on IBMs, on this on that.

But when there's a genuine system being developed specifically to run Linux on, and the same company is also developing its' own Linux flavour, we hear nothing.

For anyone wanting to get away from Windows and onto a Linux system, I believe LimeOS, as used and developed by THTF on their Z9 LimeBook, is the ideal solution. The GUI makes it so easy to navigate; a child could use it, not to mention your granny!

THFT have been at the forefront of developing this special flavour of Linux specifically designed to make it the easiest transition from a Windows-based environment, into OpenSource and a Linux Space.

Moreover, the hardware is silent due to Freescale's chip, and extremely power efficient and robust.

What’s more, their machines are extremely cost effective, and really bring the cost of laptop computing right down.

The bugger is I haven’t found any shops to buy it in yet!

There’s a load of info on THTF and then about halfway down the page some stuff on the Z9 LimeBook, some a couple of PDFs, and some external links which are pretty hot. The LimeOs FAQ’s link is very good, as is the LimeOS Quick Guide. There’s also a link to LimeOs.Org for developers.

So, if anyone's interested in a company who don't just have other companies build there machines for them, and then tart them up, and jump on the Linux band-waggon; but a company which has actually designed, built its' own machines while developing its' own Linux flavour at the same time, then give this a good looking at.

Hmmm.... new user with only two posts. Both posts just trying to big up this LimeBook doohickey... nothing that similar on a google search, although you (Blonde Caucasian, occasional smoker) and your partner do appear to be "Looking for Women, Couples or Groups Living in Beijing, China". ;-)

Currently counting as spam to me... care to respond?

Looks like a netbook that uses AA rechargable Batteries to me.. Cute little machine, line it up with the rest of the netbooks and it will disappear in the crowd.

According to this page, this isn't a computer. It is a new pet being created in China (I can only guess by some evil form of genetic engineering). I'm not sure if it is a bird or a dog though as I can't read Chinese.

Forrest

p.s. definitely spam.
