Could anybody give me advice which Linux distribution to chose on Acer Aspire 3003WMLi? I may prefer Fedora Core 4. Does anybody tried it? Are there any problems? Any instructions?..
check out tuxmobil.org. There is a list of installs on various computers, this will allow you to see what other people have installed on this laptop, then you can make a decision.
A friend of mine uses SuSE 9.3 on his Acer 3000 series laptop and it runs quite well.
From what I understand, he's upgraded it to SuSE 10 OSS, and has had no problems. (but I have not seen it running 10 yet, so I'll just report for 9.3)
I use Ubuntu Breezy Linux on my ACER 3003LCI and everything works out of the box, I had to download the wpasupplicant for wpa wireless authentication, but other than everything works fine
Fedora core is a good choice...........It got only one proble with my aspire 3000 nlc...........The LAN card won't work unless u pass the argument
"pci=noacpi" to the kernel.
