Which laptop should I buy? What would you buy?
Guys, I'm in the market for a new laptop cause the one I got is over five years old.
I'd like something from Dell but am open to suggestions. Here's a few ideas as to what I like: Dell Laptops Looking for something not too cheap but not too expensive. The middle of the road Inspiron 9300 series looks good to me. What would you do if you were able to write off the monthly lease as a business expense ? Thanks, your opinion means much. - Perry |

Ditto. I've got a T40 and couldn't be happier with it

linuxcertified.com has refurbished laptops for 600.00, with a version of your choice. However I would also agree with everyone above, thinkpads are wonderful, and much better than Dell with Linux.

Just got an Acer and everything works fine using Suse 10. Thinkpads seem to be well supported so you could give them a go.

Duh.. PowerBook!:) Running Gentoo-PPC of course.

you all seem to be in agreement, how can i argue with that lets check out the thinkpads.... thanks again - perry |
The Thinkpads are good machines, you'lI never go wrong by buying one. Nevertheless, I have 2 Latitude laptops, and the only problems I've had with them was the damage one of them sustained when my cousin and my sister decided they wanted to see what one of them looked like on the inside. I don't know that I'd ever go with an Inspirion, buy the XPS looks fairly tempting to me.
