what laptop/docing station/distro

Hi All

I am on the hunt to get rid of my old pc, and instead get a good laptop.

What i am thinking:
I "need" dual monitor prefer 2 external support (this i am having hard time to find much info on), I am a coder and i really enjoy having 2 desktops, i plan on having a laptop with a small screen for when i am on the go. So i really need two big monitor for when i am home.

I would like the new system to run ubuntu (can be other if need be i guess)

I have earlier had dell and have enjoyed them (with windows), it do not have to be dell tho. (not decided on any one model)

When did search online and founed mainly problems with 2 external + 1 internal, but since i plan on getting a small display laptop, i am only interested in.

2 external when hooked up and have the laptop lid down or whatever...

however i do have problems locating a docking station with say 2 x dvi ? most have 1 dvi and one avg

however i did find:

http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna...~ck=dellSearch

image: http://snpi.dell.com/snp/images/prod...e/20_K088C.jpg

the image show that it has 5 video ports ? 1 avg 2 dvi and 2 hdmi i think they are called.

but when looking at the description it say:
Quote:
Port(s) Total ( Free ) / Connector Type : 1 x Serial, 1 x Parallel, 5 x USB 2.0, 2 x PS/2, 1 x VGA, 1 x DVI, 1 x S-Video, 1 x RJ-45, 1 x Audio Line-out, 1 x D/Bay connector
But in any case, I do not require it to be 2 x dvi, it could just be dvi + avg. But it seems like this is a "risky area" and I do not wish to "waste" money so that is why I am here trying to do some research.

Final note i did try:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...station/distro but seems without any "close match"

-Thanks

Got a auto e-mail telling me i can post more info if i have any =) so i will try

It seems that description on the docking station was incorrect and it do have 2 x Dvi..

so i guess now the only question i have left is ...

Will say a dell e6520 and EURO2 Advanced E-Port Replicator, do well with any distribution ? or should i pick a specific one ? I am thinking maybe ubuntu.

I can only find info on "problems" with docking station/ port replicators when using Linux, this is why I am making this thread/post. I am trying to find out if it is even worth working on, or if i have to stick with a immobile desktop for my dual screen "fix"

I am not "super" familiar with Linux so I don't know what info I might be missing you someone to be able to help/answer my questions.

If anything is missing please feel free to let me know so I can try and supply that info..

-Thanks
