Rather than switching distros, fix the problems you are having. take the time to know how things work.
http://wiki.debian.org/WiFi You probably just need the firmware for your wireless. By video do you mean a flash video in your browser? Older versions of flash and iceweasel have problems, upgrade to the versions in the backports.org repo. Also you might want to Google your video card to get the best xorg.conf, there are various things you can do to tweak it. |
the trick is to use the "live-cd" to 'test' all of the components,
to see if they all work, before installing the O/S onto the hdd. |

IMHO, debian is without any doubts one of the very best/easy distributions for laptops. The laptop meta package does most things. Just add your non-free stuff as craigevil said. |
finally wireless started to work, i had to install the driver
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1329254 but my video is not much good. if i play a movie not only a one on youtube, any movie file, it will play well until i switched to full-screen mode. if i switched to fullscreen mode, it does not play smoothly. may be i need to install a nonfree driver. any one know where to find a Mobile Intel PM965 driver or Intel GMA X3100 |
actually this video problem occurs only if i enable compiz settings
