What is best?

I want to get me a laptop but i really would like something light but yet durable i was looking at Toshiba's M100, R100 portege or maybe the IBM Thinkpad X31.

Has anyone here have experience with either one of these laptops? I really would like your input on what you think of these or if there something else out there?
