Weird with screen resolution using NVIDIA

Os: SuSe 9.2
Machine: Compaq Presario R3000z. (AMD64 3200 +)

I have used the YaSt to update my computer, via the online update of SUSe. well i marked the NVIDIA drivers, and it downloaded it.. and installed it.. it seemd that i have 3D acceleration (which i didnt have before) and when i boot up appear NVIDIA screen... but here is the problem..

the resolution is stocked in 1024 x 768, and my monitor is supposed to have much more than that (15.4 '') i thiiink is 1289 x 800.

to be honest, i dont have any clue of what to do.. thanks

Same sort of problem as you although a bit worse possible, got a laptop widescreen screen, nvidia curent drivers though only display the picture as though it was a a normal "squareish" screen leaving a large chunk of the screen unaccessible and black/blank,as for the xorg drivers they are fine as long as you don't try and init 3 then the screen messes up big time like an out of sync monitor if using the xorg nv driver, tried every option under the sun, as for 3D acceleration it will work to an extent but not the full blown proper what you'd expect, same thing under mandrake, and yeah aswell can't get nvidia to accept more than 1024x768 resolution, maybe it's just a mobile thing, or someone knows the answer or the drivers just ain't quite right - which I think is the more likely answer, incidently my AGP shows up as AMD64, surely this ain't right or maybe the someone knows different?
