weird desktop configuration

Hello everyone
It just happened something weird on my acer aspire one
I got ubuntu 9.04 netbook remix installed on a sd card;I put it in the netbook and all seemed to work fine
Then I decided to change desktop configuration,I switched it from netbook desktop configuration to the regular ubuntu one(with the toolbar at the top of the screen).
At beginning it looked okay but when I restarted the netbook I could see only icons on the desktop and the toolbar disappeared, like the whole desktop was too big to fit in the screen of the netbook!
I don't know even know how to get back to the netbook desktop config cause I can't access on my toolbar!!
Does anyone have an idea to fix that?
Thank you

does right click on the desktop gives you a menu with some option named "configure Desktop" or "properties" ?

if so, try there, look for resolution, I guess your screen resolution is too low.
