webcam & card-readers in kubuntu


hello every one

I have installed kubuntu 9.10 on my VAIO laptop

but now I cant use my card-readers & webcam

I removed my windows too so I dont know how to use them ....

specially my webcam

PLEASE help me what to do guys

My laptop model: SONY AR 870 NB

Windows doesn't have anything to do with hardware working under Linux, so removing it doesn't make a difference.

And how do you know you can't use them? What error(s) have you gotten? What have you tried? What kind of card reader (Memorystick? SD?) do you have?

To check the card reader, as root, run "dmesg -c", then plug in your card. Run "dmesg", and check for output. If it recognizes the card, you should see something there, and should just have to mount it, if it's not already mounted.

Webcam, run Cheese or another webcam app. If it doesn't come up, post the relevant portions of "lsusb" and "lspci".
