Want to delete XP and instal Fedora !!!

I have a Dell Inspiron 4000, with the remainder of the XP O/S (barely operational and smashed by some clever viruses, and Im` totally fed up with the entire M$ code) and would like to install Fedora.

Before I start, I would also like to completely remove anything on the computer, and start from scratch with the Fedora code.

After writing the Fedora O/S to CD, do I just re-format the HD, before installing the new O/S ?

Can somebody give me a quick 1, 2, 3....... steps please ????

EX: (one of you smarter people talking to the idiot [ie me] )

Look dummy......

1. Turn on the computer, push the F2 button while it is warming up.

2. Select format Hard drive, when finished, next

3. Open CD drive bay

4. Put disk one in CD drive bay, and close.

5. Wait

6. Follow next instructions, like put in second CD........

I really appreciate your help.

Just use the partition tool when installing FC3. You can do automatic where it makes the basic choices for you or you can manually delete and create them also.
