Want Advice: Installing Linux on old I-Opener
I just bought an old i-opener. The unit has been hacked to add a hard drive, and 32 MBytes of RAM. It is currently running Win98. It has a USB port, but no floppy or CD-ROM drive. I have ordered (but not yet received) a USB wireless network adapter.
My plan has been to remove the hard drive, put it in another computer, install something small (DeLi Linux is my current favorite), then reinstall the disk. My fear is that the I-Opener hardware will be so different from the installation computer, that it won't boot properly. Anybody have any other suggestions of how best to do this install? |
have you thought of getting a USB CD-ROM
or maybe using a USB flash drive to do the install |
