Volume Buttons on an HP-ze4805US

I've got about everything working that I need to get working on my laptop running Fedora Core 2, kernel version 2.6.5. The one that I don't have working yet, is the volume buttons that are located on the side of my laptop. Is there a kernel change that I need to do or are there some sort of drivers.

I did a search for Volume, Buttons, and Volume Buttons on this site, but no help. I might be doing my search wrong.

Has this been resolved by anyone else?

Thanks for your help.

Try lineakd. I use it with my HP Compaq nx9105 to get the volume buttons and mute button going and it works like a charm.

just change your keyboard layout to HP ze44XX .....
that activated the volume buttons on my HP Pav 5354

Or you could install OMKE from sourceforge which will activate your one touch buttons too

if you click the website link in my profile,,, below this post it will show you in detail how I got my laptop buttons working

Thanks hw-tph and Bad Penny, I'll give that a try this evening when I get off work. Or I might sneak my laptop into work after lunch. Shhh don't tell anyone!! I'll post my results.
