VLC Media Player
HELP!!!
Anyone installed VLC media player ? I can get the sound working but i get no video... Any ideas |
Hi,
What distribution have you installed it on, and what type of file are you trying to play? |
I had no issues installing VLC using yum, I do know it requires a lot of dependencies, when I installed it with yum it downloaded 25 some packages, all I had to type was "yum install vlc", I run FC5.
You may need to install xvid/divx codecs, it sounds like thats what the problem is. |
it's possible that vlc doesn't know what display to use:
settings>preferences>video>output modules....make sure 'advanced' is checked you may have to input your display number (often 0) in X11, or OpenGL, or XVideo - or all the above, to get it to work. cheers, |
I made sure all that was done, there was a display name secion what should i put in there ?
Is it not be the ffmpeg that's a problem |
