URGENT with laptop-mode-tools


Hi
i use slackware 13.1 with 2.6.33.4 kernel in a laptop dell inspiron 1520, everything works fine but I have my problems with laptop mode tools

It's always inactive after it has altered the settings it has. You'll notice it disabled power stuff because the adapter is plugged in, but it did start/load hdparm and etc.

You'll probably see it enable power management if you unplug the adapter... does it notify you and do anything like dim the screen?

But back to your question, this and a couple other services (notably iptables!) show as "inactive," because they are not a running process per se, they are a service that alters other service processes, in this case the items handled by acpi. iptables alters the rule set IP is being being filtered through, a sort of "one time" thing, then it gets out of the way.

thanks catworld, laptop mode only works when running the battery, but
ENABLE_LAPTOP_MODE_ON_AC = 1
laptop mode works with AC power

one more question what values I should set to turn off hard drive spindown
