So I was running ubuntu 9.11 on a hp mini 110. I recently got internet access back and did the recommended updates. Afterward, my computer restarted and now I am getting this:

The screen freezes there and I cant even ctrl + alt + del out, I have to hard boot it.
I have a live usb stick I can boot into.
