Un/docking - OmniBook 500 - Mandrake10

when I boot up undocked.. I am prompted that hardware has been removed and to run the config tool.... when I dock and boot up i get the message that it found hardware and to update.

it finds and removes the floppy and cd. (the floppy and cd are built into the dock.. not the laptop)

Can I get rid of this problem by disabling the hardware detection.. will this cause any problems with booting up and the device not being there but being listed in fstab???

Is there a better way to alleviate this problem???

Thanks
Trey
