Ubuntu 6.06, kernel 2.6.15, Zire 31 not working

I have used my Zire 31 in Debian with kernel 2.6.8 and the visor module source includes the proper ID number for it. I'm now using Ubuntu 6.06 with kernel 2.6.15-26. I went to the trouble to check the source for visor and it does have 61 for the number.

I plug in the Zire 31. /dev/pilot and the module visor do not show. I hit Hotsync. /dev/pilot, a link to ttyUSB1 is made. lsmod shows visor loaded. I run something like pilot-xfer -i <some.pdb> and I get a message to hit the HotSync.

I can't figure out where I'm going wrong. Any clues?

Thanks,
Anita
