ubuntu 6.06.1 LTS display problem in laptop


i have a dell xps m 1530 laptop. Graphic card=nvidia 8600 m gt.
wen running live cd, X server fails saying "screen/device not found". Please help. I dont know much about linux CLI.

6.06 is *wayyyy* old - get a recent version. 8.04 is current and runs fine on a m1330
