Ubuntu 14.04.1 64 - Touchpad not working/showing for Acer Aspire VN-791G

I got this laptop 2 days ago, after testing it with windows 8(all hardware worked fine), i decide do install Ubuntu 14.04.1 x64... Sadly the touch pad is not working. And not just sloppy movement or no scroll, the pointer is not moving.

Found this: http://askubuntu.com/a/455908/358056

but what i get from xinput list is:

root@NO2:~# xinput list
⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2 [master pointer (3)]
⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ id=12 [slave pointer (2)]
⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3 [master keyboard (2)]
↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard id=5 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Power Button id=6 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Video Bus id=7 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Video Bus id=8 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Power Button id=9 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Sleep Button id=10 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ HD WebCam id=13 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ AT Translated Set 2 keyboard id=14 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Acer WMI hotkeys id=15 [slave keyboard (3)]

from lsusb i get:

root@NO2:~# lsusb
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 8087:8000 Intel Corp.
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 8087:8008 Intel Corp.
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub
Bus 003 Device 005: ID 04f2:b469 Chicony Electronics Co., Ltd
Bus 003 Device 004: ID 06cb:2970 Synaptics, Inc.
Bus 003 Device 007: ID 413c:3010 Dell Computer Corp. Optical Wheel Mouse
Bus 003 Device 002: ID 0bda:0129 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTS5129 Card Reader Controller
Bus 003 Device 006: ID 04ca:300d Lite-On Technology Corp.
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

that confirms what's on the vendor's page: "TouchPad Synaptics Touchpad Driver" win. 8

Now i'm stuck, and quite disappointed...

Any ideas where to start?

Try with bootable usb if current version of ubuntu works with synaptic. (currently 14.10 or unstable 15.04)

You should have a hotkey that shows a hand in blue to use with Fn-key

I'm aware of the hot key, actually it was the first hit.
Anyway, moved to Debian Jessie b2, all hardware works great.
No issues whatsoever.

...the experience on this laptop, with a Linux os is insane
